As I sit down to write this newsletter, I’m haunted by the devastating images & stories coming out of the states ravaged by hurricane Helene, and the volatility escalating in the Middle East. It is wild to sit with the reality of the world before us…to let ourselves feel what is like to be at the mercy of something so powerful & beyond our control. It is terrifying, humbling, and undoubtedly brings you to your knees. It is in these moments, where we see the power & importance of community, loving your neighbor, and helping each other out.
There are so many ways to be awed by the power of nature – from the sheer force & power of a river that has breached its banks, and swallows anything in its path, to the simple, graceful blooming of a rose. Nature, in her unrelenting fertility, prolific creativity & ability to create, promises us that flowers will bloom again in the places where the earth & her people have been torn apart. Flowers speak the language of the soul, they touch a space deep within you and start to heal the fragmented parts of you, that maybe you didn’t even realize needed healing.
Whether the storms, floods, fires & war going on is within you, or in the world outside of you, trust that there is a softening, a sweetness & an unparalleled beauty that will eventually emerge.
Wishing you light to see through the darkness,
